Life Is Fragile

A poem

Life is fleeting, like sand through our hands,
Moments slip by, like waves on the sands.
We rush through the days, lost in our minds,
Forgetting the people we’re leaving behind.

We don’t cherish the moments, don’t stop to see,
The beauty in love, in the company we keep.
We get lost in anger, in grudges we hold,
While hearts that we love are left growing cold.

In one breath, they’re here, the next, they’re gone,
And we stand there wondering where it went wrong.
The chance to say “I love you” is lost in the air,
Because we waited too long to show we care.

Why live with hate when love is the key?
Why waste the time when love can set us free?
Hold on to the ones who brighten your day,
For tomorrow, they might be taken away.

Life is so fragile, we all have our end,
So cherish your family, your lover, your friend.
Don’t wait for the moment when it’s too late to show,
How much they mean, how much they help you grow.

Live with a heart that’s open and wide,
Let go of the pain you’ve buried inside.
For life is fleeting, here and then gone,
But love is the legacy that carries on.
