Our Love Wasn’t Meant To Be

A poem

I thought we’d be forever, but forever had its end,
A dream unraveled slowly, too fragile to defend.
What started as a spark, bright and alive,
Became a fading ember we couldn’t revive.

We built a world with promises, so sweet,
But cracks appeared where our hearts used to meet.
No matter how hard we tried, we couldn’t hold tight,
The distance grew louder than love’s gentle light.

You were my always, my every tomorrow,
Now you’re just a shadow wrapped in quiet sorrow.
The plans we made, the love we swore,
Lie scattered now on a distant shore.

Maybe some loves are lessons, not meant to stay,
Here to teach us, then gently drift away.
Though it hurts to let go, I now can see,
Our love was beautiful, but it wasn’t meant to be.
