The World Will Treat You The Way You Allow It To

Why do I expect respect from others if I’m not respecting myself?

There was a time in my life when I let the world dictate how I felt about myself.

I was the quiet one, the shy one, the person too afraid to make waves or stand up for what I needed.

If someone stepped on my boundaries, I let them. If someone overlooked my feelings, I accepted it.

It felt easier to stay silent than to risk confrontation.

But that silence came at a cost — a deep sense of unworthiness and a life shaped by others’ expectations, not my own.

If this resonates with you, let me tell you something: you are better than that.

You deserve more than to be treated like an afterthought. The truth is, the world will treat you the way you allow it to.

Why Do We Let People Walk All Over Us?

Fear is often the culprit. Fear of being disliked. Fear of causing discomfort. Fear of looking “too much” or “too difficult.”

But in that fear, we shrink ourselves, believing that keeping the peace is more important than protecting our hearts.
