What’s Happening To My Medium Earnings?
Lately, I’ve noticed a dramatic drop in my Medium earnings, and I can’t help but feel a mix of frustration and confusion.
At first, I blamed myself — maybe my writing wasn’t resonating, or I wasn’t promoting my work enough.
But after talking to other writers and scrolling through Medium articles, it’s clear I’m not alone.
What’s going on with the Medium algorithm?
Articles that used to gain consistent traction now barely get read, let alone recommended.
It’s disheartening, especially when you put so much heart and effort into your work.
It feels like something shifted behind the scenes.
Are there fewer readers engaging?
Have the algorithm changes made it harder for newer or smaller writers to get noticed?
Whatever it is, the decline in views and earnings has been stark.
But I’m not giving up on Medium just yet.
I started Medium because I love writing, and I’ll continue because of that passion, not just the payouts.
Still, it’s tough to stay motivated when you’re not seeing the results you once did.
