Do you remember your first day of school?

Do you remember the first time you rode a bicycle without training wheels?

Do you remember your first kiss, your first job, or the first time you traveled to a new place?

These “firsts” hold a special place in our memories, often remaining vivid and poignant despite the passage of time.

But why are these moments so unforgettable?

From my own experience, I can say that our firsts are unforgettable because they represent the beginning of something new and often, something significant.

They mark the start of a journey or a new chapter in our lives, filled with excitement, anticipation, and sometimes, a bit of fear.

The Power of Novelty

When we experience something for the first time, it’s entirely new to us. This novelty heightens our senses and makes the experience more intense and memorable. I remember the first time I saw the ocean. The vastness of the water, the sound of the waves crashing against the shore, and the smell of the salty air were overwhelming. Every detail of that moment is etched in my mind because it was unlike anything I had ever experienced before.
