You Don’t Know What You’ve Got Until It’s Gone

You don’t know what you’ve got until it’s gone,
That’s what they always say, but now I see it’s true.
I took for granted all the little things you’d do,
The way you smiled, the way you’d make my day.

I didn’t notice how much you meant to me,
Not until the day you walked away.
Now, every quiet moment makes me see
How much I lost when I let you slip away.

I thought we had time, thought we were strong,
But I didn’t realize we were drifting apart.
Now I’m left with memories where you belong,
Wishing I had held you closer from the start.

I didn’t see the value of what we had,
Until it was too late to make it right.
Now I’m here, missing you so bad,
Wishing I could turn back time tonight.

You don’t know what you’ve got until it’s gone,
It’s a lesson learned, but it cuts so deep.
Now I’m left with regrets, trying to move on,
But the love we lost is a wound I’ll always keep.
